If you have an existing injury or existing pain or discomfort, consult with a physician or physical therapist in person to receive a proper diagnosis and treatment plan before participating in MOTI\u2019s prehab program. This program is not designed to be used on its own without proper guidance from your DPT\/OTD and\/or MD. Exercise involves inherent risk of injury, and you are participating in MOTI\u2019s prehab program at your own risk. In consideration for participating in MOTI\u2019s prehab program, you acknowledge the foregoing, and knowingly, voluntarily and expressly agree to waive any claim for damages or injury against MOTI, and release MOTI and its agents from any liability for injuries or damages sustained as a result of the use or misuse of the program. Do not participate in MOTI\u2019s prehab program unless you understand and agree to the foregoing completely.<\/em><\/p>\r\n<h4><strong>Swelling Management<\/strong><\/h4>\r\n<!-- \/wp:post-content -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list -->\r\n<ul>\r\n<li>Maintain compression on the recovering limb &#8211; but follow the compression recommendations from your surgeon\/doctor<\/li>\r\n<li>Ice the recovering limb at LEAST 2-3 times a day for 10-15 minutes each time<\/li>\r\n<li>Perform 10-20 ankle pumps or knee bends every hour that you are sitting. (Only bend and straighten the knee in pain free range. If your surgeon allows you to walk on your recovering limb, refer to the video to practice slow walking while using your crutches.<\/li>\r\n<li>If walking is too painful, practice weight shifting as shown in video, to slowly build confidence and muscle activation until standing on the recovering limb is pain free for walking.<\/li>\r\n<\/ul>\r\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" src=\"https:\/\/player.vimeo.com\/video\/496541556?dnt=1&amp;app_id=122963\" width=\"640\" height=\"360\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"autoplay; fullscreen; picture-in-picture; clipboard-write\"><\/iframe><\/p>\r\n<hr \/>\r\n<h3>\u00a0<\/h3>\r\n<h3><strong>EVERYDAY POST-OP EXERCISE ROUTINE FOR WEEKS 1-2 AFTER SURGERY<\/strong><\/h3>\r\n<p><!-- \/wp:list -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:list --><\/p>\r\n<p>Leading up to your post-op physical therapy evaluation, perform the morning routine and the afternoon routine everyday\u2026beginning the day after your surgery. <em><strong>If your surgeon has directed you to avoid standing on the surgical leg, avoid the 5<sup>th<\/sup> exercise in each routine.<\/strong> <\/em><\/p>\r\n<p>Once you begin your personalized plan of care with your physical therapist at MOTI, your PT will begin to make progressions to these routines as tolerated.\u00a0<\/p>\r\n<p><strong>Morning Routine<\/strong><\/p>\r\n<p><!-- wp:paragraph \/--><!-- \/wp:list -->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:heading {\"level\":3} \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:embed {\"url\":\"https:\/\/vimeo.com\/496541556\",\"type\":\"video\",\"providerNameSlug\":\"vimeo\",\"responsive\":true,\"className\":\"wp-embed-aspect-16-9 wp-has-aspect-ratio\"} \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph \/-->\r\n\r\n<!-- wp:paragraph --><\/p>\r\n<ol>\r\n<li>Toe Yoga &#8211; Perform 2 sets of 10 repetitions<\/li>\r\n<li>Quad Sets &#8211; Perform 2 sets of 10 repetitions&#8230;hold for 10 seconds with each repetition<\/li>\r\n<li>Heel Slides (NEVER pull THROUGH pain, stop the stretch before pain) &#8211; Perform 2 sets of 10-15 repetitions<\/li>\r\n<li>Stationary Bike &#8211; 10-20 min (full rotation only if range allowed allowed and pain free).
