Though the month&nbsp;of celebrating&nbsp;is coming to an end,&nbsp;it is important for people to&nbsp;know about&nbsp;the importance of physical therapy and how we play an important&nbsp;role in people\u2019s everyday lives.&nbsp;&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>HISTORY OF PHYSICAL THERAPY<\/strong>&nbsp;<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image size-full\"><img decoding=\"async\" width=\"350\" height=\"277\" src=\"https:\/\/motipt.com\/wp-content\/uploads\/2021\/10\/ForSamHoustonWWII_350w.jpeg\" alt=\"\" class=\"wp-image-2149\"\/><figcaption><a href=\"https:\/\/www.apta.org\/apta-history\/the-first-100-years-of-apta\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">https:\/\/www.apta.org\/apta-history\/the-first-100-years-of-apta<\/a>\u00a0<\/figcaption><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p>The physical therapy profession&nbsp;came to the forefront&nbsp;during World War I,&nbsp;when&nbsp;Marguerite Sanderson&nbsp;and Mary&nbsp;McMillan&nbsp;trained&nbsp;people&nbsp;to care for individuals that were wounded during the war; those trained individuals&nbsp;became&nbsp;known as&nbsp;<strong>\u201creconstruction aides\u201d<\/strong>.&nbsp;&nbsp;At that time, there were more than 700 reconstruction aides,&nbsp;the&nbsp;majority women,&nbsp;who&nbsp;cared&nbsp;for&nbsp;nearly half of the 125,000 Americans that were disabled&nbsp;during World War I.&nbsp;Following the events of World&nbsp;War&nbsp;I,&nbsp;another turning point in history occurred during the 1920\u2019s and the 1930\u2019s;
