Dr. Christine Lawson earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California in 2012. She did her undergraduate education at Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo, receiving a BA in Kinesiology. While there, she was privileged to work with the adaptive kayaking program for people with disabilities, which really fueled her love for movement.
Christine’s passion is working in the orthopedic setting with patients of all ages and activity levels, especially seniors and medically complex patients. Her gifts are in manual therapy, functional movement, and creating a collaborative, safe, and fun environment for each patient with whom she works. She has received many certifications, including Applied Functional Science (CAFS), 3D MAPS, female chain reaction, visceral manipulation, Kinesiotaping, and Pilates for Physical Therapists through the APPI.
In her spare time, she enjoys being a mama, doing yoga, Pilates, and weight training, going to the beach, travel, and watching her Trojans and 49ers play! ¡Se habla español también!
Dr. Nick Cutri earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy (DPT) from the University of Southern California after earning his BS in Kinesiology at San Diego State University. A practitioner of functional physical therapy, he completed the Fellowship Program in Applied Functional Science with the Gray Institute for Functional Therapy. He is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS) with the National Strength and Conditioning Association (NSCA). An expert in Sports Physical Therapy, Nick has worked with many professional athletes. He has developed special expertise and programming for NBA athletes, professional skateboarders, and professional dancers. Opening MOTI Physiotherapy is a dream come true, and it is Nick’s aspiration to provide a positive healing environment that produces results for all patients.
Dr. Megan O’Linn earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from Mt. St. Mary’s University after earning her BS in Kinesiology at University of Hawaii at Manoa. Megan is inspired by using a total body approach to manage musculoskeletal injury and has focused her continuing education to increase her knowledge in developmental and functional movement to treat the body as whole based on the foundational principles of Dynamic Neuromuscular Reeducation (DNS), Movement Links and the Gray Institute. To further pursue her expertise Megan received her Orthopedic Certified Specialist (OCS) board certification in 2016, and she is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist (CSCS). Megan uses her background in DNS as a contributor to Sugarfoot Therapy, creating movement flows specific to the dance community that focus on dynamic stability, alignment, and muscle activation. Megan played ten years of competitive water polo, and was recruited and played four years for the Division 1 University of Hawaii at Manoa. She is a co-founder of the Los Angeles Athletic Club Elite Women’s Water Polo team and has contributed content and created the Dry Land screen for 6-8Sports, as well as, assisting in zoom dry land trainings for high school water polo club teams. Megan enjoys working with all aquatic athletes, including water polo players, swimmers and surfers. She is inspired to help all athletes learn how to move their bodies more optimally to enhance performance and reduce risk of injury.
Dr. Ann DeGrey graduated from UC Irvine with a B.S. in Public Health Sciences and then continued her educational pursuits at the University of St. Augustine, earning her Doctorate in Physical Therapy (DPT). Dr. DeGrey is currently the Director of MOTI Physiotherapy in Highland Park and is an active Clinical Instructor for DPT students from multiple physical therapy programs. She is also a Certified Board Sports Specialist and Certified USA Weightlifting Performance Coach, traveling as a medical provider for professional sports organizations, including Team USA Weightlifting, AVP Beach Volleyball, World Police Games, and Mountain Dew Skateboarding Tour/Olympic Qualifiers. Dr. DeGrey worked at the Olympic Training Center in Colorado Springs in the summer of 2019 and continues to treat USA Olympians and Para-Olympians. Additionally, Dr. DeGrey is an Adjunct Professor at West Coast University DPT Program, a certified EMR Instructor for American Red Cross, and certified BLS Healthcare Instructor for the American Heart Association.
Dr. Rhoda Bea Hernando (she/her/hers) earned her Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Prior to PT school, she received her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training at the University of the Pacific and became a certified athletic trainer. Her athletic training background includes working with high school football, Division I men’s water polo, women’s basketball, softball, sand volleyball, and interning at Woodward West Action Sports Camp. Rhoda’s passion for physical therapy stemmed from undergoing post-ACL reconstruction rehab after tearing her ACL while playing soccer in high school. She is a 3rd degree black belt in taekwondo and has a 10-year history of competitive Olympic-style fighting. Though she does not compete anymore, Rhoda has done sports medicine coverage for state and national taekwondo events. She is a firm believer of lifelong learning and is Pelvic Floor Level 1 certified through the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In her free time, Rhoda enjoys going to the beach, hiking, cycling, traveling, and exploring the food scene.
Dr. Lorena Ambriz graduated from UCLA with her B.S. in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology. Before pursuing her Doctorate degree in Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California (USC), Lorena became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine with specialties in behavior change and corrective exercise.
While attaining her Doctorate in PT, Lorena was exposed to various settings including outpatient orthopedic rehab, inpatient cardiopulmonary rehab and outpatient neurological rehab. Implementing an evidence and movement based approach, Lorena tailors each treatment to the needs of each of her patients. Coming from a background competing in cross country, track and powerlifting, Lorena has developed a love for the process of rehabilitation and has become passionate about helping individuals recover from injury.
Lorena’s hobbies include drawing, watching movies and shows, running, lifting weights, going to the beach, hiking and spending time with her loved ones.

Dr. Daphne Chiao graduated with a degree in Sports Medicine and Health Science from Rice University. Since the Houston Medical Center was just across the street, she shadowed many different health professions while she was there and ultimately decided that physical therapy was the most fitting for her because of how it allows the therapist and patients to form a personal connection and witness patient recovery together. She then returned to California to earn her doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine at San Marcos, California. Since graduating, Daphne has been working in outpatient orthopedic settings with the purpose of helping people have less pain and have some fun while they’re doing it!
In her free time, Daphne likes to bake, read, and explore the city’s coffee/boba shops, bookstores, and markets.
Dr. Ciara Duggan graduated from San Diego State University with a B.S. in Kinesiology. She is a former competitive Irish dancer, and during the last year of her undergraduate studies, she became a registered Teagascóir Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha (dance teacher) with An Coimisiún Le Rincí Gaelacha. She continued her education to obtain her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. She further went on to complete an orthopedic clinical residency at Stanford Health Care, which focused on high level clinical reasoning, literature appraisal, exercise prescription, and manual therapy. Taking all that she has learned, she strives to ensure an efficacious treatment strategy for each patient; valuing the characteristics that make each case different. She is a dedicated life long learner, with her newest educational expedition being Women’s Pelvic Health. In her free-time, she likes to continue her quest to find the best espresso martini, hike, camp, Pilates, and hang out with her dog Jackie.
Dr. James “Javin” Escueta (he/him) graduated from the University of Findlay with a Doctorate of Physical Therapy and possesses extensive clinical experience across various settings. His passion lies in assisting clients from diverse backgrounds in reclaiming their active lifestyles through tailored treatment plans. Driven by a movement-based approach, he adeptly combines manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to restore optimal function and amplify performance. With a particular interest in injury prevention and facilitating the return to sport for climbers and artist-athletes, Dr. Escueta remains dedicated to ongoing professional development. Beyond his professional pursuits, he finds fulfillment in bouldering, photography, and traveling, which deepen his understanding of his clients’ passions and aspirations.
Nico Docil completed his undergraduate education at Pacific Union College (pre-physical therapy emphasis). He then attended Loma Linda University for Physical Therapy School and earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy. After graduating, he has taken various continuing education courses such as Retrain the Brain, Movement Links Seminar Series, and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS). Nico has a strong passion for physical therapy, using a movement-based approach for treatment. He loves teaching patients to move optimally and safely to help them return to their respective sport, activity, and function pain free. Nico lives an active lifestyle. He grew up playing various sports such as basketball, volleyball, and baseball, which has helped him with his experience when working with athletes. Nico is a huge LA sports fans and roots for the LA Lakers, Dodgers, and Roms. He also enjoys exercising, hiking, and olympic weight lifting, and finding new places to eat and to grab coffee.
Rajat received his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the Western University of Health Sciences. Additionally, he obtained his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology and Social Behavior from the University of California, Irvine (Zot-Zot-Zot!)
Rajat began his pursuit in Physical Therapy in hopes to bridge the gap between underserved communities and provide an avenue for healthcare services. From an early age, he has been very active and involved in multiple sports, such as baseball, track & field, football, and volleyball. His interest in physical therapy was solidified when he encountered and overcame multiple injuries due to sports and powerlifting. He is very passionate about movement science and its power to restore, heal, and improve the human body. In the future, Rajat strives to obtain specialty certifications in orthopedics and sports. He enjoys working with a variety of people ranging from athletes, post-operative patients, Olympic/powerlifters, weekend warriors, and individuals striving to create healthy changes.
Outside of the clinic, Rajat spends his time with his parents in the Bay Area, lifting (Squats and Deadlifts are his favorite), hiking with his dog (Marley), playing beach volleyball, exploring LA, and trying new foods.
Dr. Jennifer Nguyen (she/her/hers) earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California. Previously, she earned her Bachelor of Science from the other side of town, at the University of California, Los Angeles where she had the opportunity to work as a sports medicine intern with the women’s softball team for several years. Jennifer has had clinical experiences in a variety of physical therapy settings including orthopedics, neurologic rehabilitation, acute care, and sports medicine and enjoys working with people of all ages and backgrounds. She is very passionate about what she does and is dedicated to optimizing movement to maximize outcomes for her patients. In her free time, Jennifer is an avid plant mom, enjoys running, snowboarding, volleyball and film editing.
Dr. Grace Barredo (she/her) earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of Southern California after graduating from Brandeis University with a B.S. in Biology. At USC, she was awarded the Order of the Golden Cane, which is the highest honor awarded to graduates of the division. Her interest in movement began at a young age, having experienced physical therapy herself on several occasions. She understands the value of physical therapy in returning to life roles, so she seeks to give patients the best care possible, utilizing an individualized and evidence-based approach. She is passionate about promoting accessibility and ensuring that everyone has the opportunity to lead a healthy, active life. Grace has experience treating patients with orthopedic and neurological conditions in the outpatient and inpatient settings, and has a particular interest in vestibular system and spine. Education is a core pillar of her treatment approach as she strongly believes in empowering patients to actively participate in their rehabilitation.
Outside of the clinic, Grace enjoys rock climbing, skateboarding, and even played semi-professional ultimate frisbee. She also loves live music, exploring new food spots in LA (recommendations are always welcomed!), and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Hakop Petrosyan earned his Bachelor’s degree in Kinesiology from California State University, Northridge, followed by his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. Throughout his professional training and career, Dr. Petrosyan has remained committed to staying current with the latest advancements in the field of physical therapy, continuously expanding his knowledge and skills to provide the highest quality care to his patients. Dr. Petrosyan’s expertise extends across a diverse range of patient demographics and healthcare settings, including acute care, sub-acute care, and rehabilitation environments. With proficiency in treating athletes, individuals recovering from orthopedic surgeries, those managing chronic pain conditions, as well as patients recuperating from strokes, neurological conditions, amputations, and cerebrovascular accidents, Dr. Petrosyan delivers comprehensive care tailored to address the unique needs of each individual.
Raised in the vibrant city of Los Angeles, Dr. Petrosyan has cultivated deep ties within his community and a steadfast dedication to service. Coming from a family deeply rooted in medicine and healthcare, Dr. Petrosyan was inspired from a young age to pursue a career dedicated to enhancing the well-being of others. Outside of his professional pursuits, Dr. Petrosyan enjoys his passion for tennis, utilizing the sport as both a means of relaxation and a way to maintain his physical fitness.
Dr. Isabella “Bella” Raroque (she/her/hers) received her undergraduate degree in Psychobiology from UCLA and her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Columbia University in New York. During her time at Columbia, she was part of the dance research team and participated in electives including sports rehabilitation, pelvic health, and performing arts rehabilitation. Throughout her clinical rotations, she has worked with a range of orthopedic and neurological patient populations and thoroughly enjoys getting to know her patients and empowering them to reach their goals. She is particularly interested in dance medicine as well as the integration of Pilates principles in treatment. Some of her hobbies include taking fitness classes, running, attending concerts and Broadway shows, and exploring new restaurants and fun activities around the city.
Dr. Anthony Shaw graduated from Northwestern University in Chicago, Illinois with his Doctorate of Physical Therapy, and previously, he earned his Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology from San Francisco State University. Anthony’s varied clinical experience includes working within acute care, vestibular and balance therapy, orthopedics, and sports medicine. His passion for physical therapy began in high school when he suffered multiple injuries while playing baseball and basketball, and now he enjoys working with individuals of all backgrounds to help them achieve their movement goals. Outside of the clinic, he enjoys cheering on his hometown’s (San Francisco) sports teams, basketball, running, and finding new local food spots.
Dr. Sarah Grimm earned her Bachelor of Science in Athletic Training from San Diego State University and her Doctor of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California. Before her doctorate, she completed a Master of Science in Exercise Science and Health Promotion with an emphasis in Sports Psychology at PennWest California. Dr. Grimm’s background in Athletic Training has provided her the opportunity to work with various high school sports teams, as well as club hockey and soccer. During her clinical rotations, she gained experience in outpatient orthopedics, geriatrics, and pelvic floor therapy. She holds a Pelvic Floor Level 1 certification from the Herman and Wallace Pelvic Rehabilitation Institute. In her free time, she enjoys playing recreational sports, coaching youth teams, spending time outdoors, and reading.
Katie Schaar Cutri is an accomplished professional dancer/choreographer who has worked extensively with artists like P!NK, Taylor Swift, & Katy Perry, and on countless film and television productions. She developed Sugarfoot Therapy as an affordable and accessible way to bring the therapeutic exercises of sports physical therapy to dancers. Katie travels all over the country teaching the program to dancers and dance educators; and she is now happy to teach Sugarfoot Therapy classes at MOTI. Along with her husband, Dr. Nick Cutri, Katie oversees operations at MOTI Physiotherapy.
Gabriela is a Billing and Collection Specialist at MOTI, as well as a patient coordinator. She is bilingual, speaking Spanish and English and is interested in learning Korean. When she’s not working she is trying to find a fun activity to do with her kids. On her days off she loves to take her family on hikes, go to the beach, watch movies, have at home paint nights, or take mini road trips.
Caroline graduated with her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Washington University in St. Louis in 2024 after earning her BS in Kinesiology and BFA in Dance from Western Washington University in Bellingham, WA. She was trained in the Movement System Impairment that analyzes human movement to understand dysfunction and painful movement patterns. This unique lens to physical therapy has helped shape her evaluation and treatment style to provide individualized care to each patient she interacts with. Caroline has a passion for treating spine, hip, knee and ankle injuries, specifically those related to dance and running conditions. She has an array of experience with post operative conditions and orthopedic conditions. Caroline has over 20+ years of dance experience and danced professionally with a modern dance company in Bellingham, WA. She is an ACE certified personal trainer and uses her dance, running and fitness background to tailor each workout and rehab program. Outside of the clinic Caroline loves to hike, take dance classes in LA, surf at the beach, try new restaurants and be active outdoors!
Joefy is currently working towards completion of her Bachelors degree in Healthcare Management. Before joining MOTI she was a care coordinator at a psychiatrist office; she has also worked as a Child Behavioral Interventionist in Santa Monica. Joefy tries to ensure that all of our patients get the most of what MOTI can offer. In her spare time, Joefy enjoys art and history museums, playing soccer, cooking and competitive cheerleading.
Alex earned her Doctorate of Physical Therapy from San Diego State University in 2022. She obtained her Bachelor’s degree in Exercise and Sports Sciences at Texas Tech University where she also competed as part of the NCAA Division I Women’s Golf Team for four years.
Prior to pursuing her Doctorate, Alex played golf professionally for two years on the mini tours in Orlando as well as the Canadian Women’s tour. Alex attended IMG Academies in high school where she learned the importance of strength and flexibility to achieve peak performance. After hanging up her sticks, Alex decided to pursue her passion in helping athletes improve performance through fitness while working at various golf academies in Orlando and later as a strength and conditioning coach. In her pursuit for continued knowledge and wanting to help people, she eventually decided to get her DPT in sunny San Diego.
Alex enjoys working with people of all ages and has a biomechanical approach to treatment by teaching how to move optimally to better be able to participate in daily activities or respective sports. She has had clinical experience in orthopedics, vestibular and neurological rehab.
Outside of the clinic, Alex likes to spend her time with family and friends, walking her 12 year old aussidoodle Dexter, hiking, working out, catching a San Diego Wave game, and exploring new coffee, food, and brewery locations. Recommendations are welcome!
Sabrina knew she wanted to be a physical therapist from a young age. She grew up playing sports and dancing, which allowed her to experience the importance of physical therapy for herself, as well as see how it benefited others in her life after experiencing injuries.
She discovered a passion for women’s health after seeing the lack of postpartum care provided for her relatives after they gave birth. This led her to complete post-graduate coursework in pelvic health through Herman & Wallace, including Pelvic Floor 1, 2A, 2B and Athletes and Pelvic Rehabilitation. She is also certified in Mat and Reformer Pilates.
Sabrina has experience treating a wide variety of both orthopedic and pelvic conditions, ranging from athletes returning to their sport after an injury to moms recovering after childbirth to those experiencing chronic pain. Her passion is to assist people through their rehab journey by providing them the education and tools they need to meet their personal goals.
In her spare time, Sabrina enjoys teaching/ taking fitness classes, trying new coffee shops and spending time at the beach.
Brian Bailey earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from the University of San Francisco.
Before pursuing his doctorate, Brian spent over a decade as a personal trainer in Los Angeles, CA, where he helped clients achieve their fitness goals in bodybuilding, powerlifting, weight loss, and overall wellness. His own journey of overcoming multiple shoulder injuries inspired him to become a physical therapist, channeling his personal experience into a passion for helping others.
Brian specializes in assisting patients and athletes in returning to their sports and the activities they love most. He has completed continuing education courses in Manual Therapy and Applied Functional Sciences to enhance his practice.
Outside of work, Brian enjoys practicing handstands, hiking with his dog Homer, running, weightlifting, and curating his ever-expanding sneaker collection.
Dr. Justin Nguyen earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, CA. His passion for physical therapy began with his own journey of overcoming basketball-related knee and shoulder injuries which inspired him to develop the skills necessary to help others regain strength, mobility, function, and confidence.
Before attending physical therapy school, Justin spent four years coaching high school basketball, where he also led the strength and conditioning program. This experience provided him with a deep understanding of athletic performance, injury prevention, and rehabilitation, all of which he integrates into his treatment approach.
With clinical experience in orthopedics, neurological rehabilitation, sub-acute care, and sports medicine, Justin works with a diverse population, combining manual therapy, therapeutic exercises, and functional training to help his patients return to the activities they love most.
Outside the clinic, Justin is an avid Lakers fan who enjoys playing basketball, pickleball, weightlifting, and spending quality time with his wife and son.
Dr. Aimee Winston (she/her) received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Kinesiology from Occidental College and Doctor of Physical Therapy Degree from Boston University. After physical therapy school, she completed a year-long residency in orthopedic physical therapy through the University of Southern California and became a Board Certified Clinical Specialist in Orthopedic Physical Therapy in 2018. Her patient-centered, movement-driven approach comes from her coursework in Movement Links and Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization (DNS) courses. Growing up in Los Angeles, she has been a dancer for over 25 years and worked as a performer and choreographer’s assistant on several professional jobs while in college. She is an active member of the American Physical Therapy Association. In her spare time, she enjoys running, group fitness classes, and taking dance classes at local studios.
Dr. Cameron Weiser graduated from California State University, Northridge, with a B.S. in Kinesiology and continued his educational pursuits by completing a master’s degree in clinical Exercise Physiology at Arizona State University before earning his Doctor of Physical Therapy from West Coast University. With a lifelong background in athletics—including baseball, football, and martial arts—Cameron developed an early appreciation for movement, performance, and injury recovery. He now brings that same passion into his clinical practice, combining evidence-based rehabilitation strategies with an empathetic, patient-centered approach. Cameron is especially interested in orthopedic and sports physical therapy, where he strives to help patients restore function, return to activity, and build long-term resilience. He values creating a collaborative environment in which patients feel supported and empowered throughout their rehabilitation process. Outside of the clinic, Cameron enjoys staying active through basketball, weightlifting, running, & reading on his down time.
Dr. Ryan Clarke graduated from Cal State LA with a Bachelors of Science in Kinesiology with an emphasis in Rehabilitation and Therapeutic Exercise, and he then earned his Doctor of Physical Therapy from West Coast University. Ryan grew up playing basketball at a young age, and picked up skateboarding soon after. He still enjoys playing pick up basketball games, but spends most of his time skateboarding which he has done for 25 years now. Ryan’s love and passion for sports led him to pursuing a career in physical therapy as a way to not only prolong his own participation in sports, but to help others as well. He hopes to become a Board-Certified Sports Clinical Specialist in the future to further his career. When he is not working, Ryan enjoys going to Lakers, Dodgers, and Rams games, as well as relaxing at the beach.
Dr. Ivan Moc earned his Doctorate of Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine for Health Sciences in San Marcos, California. He graduated with high honors and received the Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy. During his time as a student, Ivan served as President of the Student Physical Therapist Association, and empowered fellow aspiring physical therapists as a tutor and teaching assistant. He previously held a Lead PT Aide role at MOTI. Ivan has experience treating patients across the lifespan, with clinical exposure in orthopedic, neurologic, cardiac, and pediatric physical therapy. He has a special interest in orthopedic and pediatric physical therapy and will continue advancing his clinical skill set through education in Dynamic Neuromuscular Stabilization. Shaped by a fitness background and personal experience with recurrent spine-related injuries, Ivan practices through an evidence-informed approach aimed at helping patients move with intention, confidence, and long-term resilience. Outside of the clinic, Ivan enjoys lifting weights, cooking, playing video games, and beatboxing.
